Terms of use
Updated on 31 October 2026
These terms govern the use of the regional web platform of Enda Jeunesse Action (the “platform”). Creating an account, posting content or taking part in the chat means you accept these terms, the child protection policy and the privacy policy.
1. Publisher and hosting
- Publisher: Enda Jeunesse Action (EJA), a programme of Enda Tiers Monde, [to be completed: legal form, registration number], [to be completed: address], Dakar, Senegal.
- Publication director: [to be completed: name and position].
- Contact: [to be completed: contact email address].
- Hosting: [to be completed: name, address and country of the hosting provider].
2. Purpose of the platform
The platform connects child protection and youth mobility actors in West Africa: resource centre, thematic communities, public chat, events calendar and the network’s social media posts. It is provided free of charge, except for resources clearly marked as paid.
3. Access
- Public pages, open-access resources and the public chat can be viewed without an account.
- Member accounts are reserved for adults working, paid or voluntary, with children and young people. They give access to thematic groups, members-only resources and resource uploads.
- EJA strives to keep the platform available at all times but cannot guarantee it: maintenance, network outages or technical incidents may interrupt it.
4. Member account
- The information you give when signing up (name, job title, organisation) must be accurate and kept up to date.
- Your password is personal. Any activity carried out with an account is deemed to be done by its holder; if you suspect your account is compromised, change your password and tell EJA.
- Links to an organisation are validated by EJA. The focal point role (leading and moderating a group) is granted by EJA.
- You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time (see the privacy policy).
5. Absolute rule: child protection
No information that could identify a child may be published: name, photo, voice, precise place of residence, details of their story or an individual case file, even partly anonymised. This rule applies to resources, discussions, replies, chat messages and attachments. It is detailed in the child protection policy. Any breach leads to the immediate removal of the content and may lead to the suspension of the account.
6. Member contributions
- Resources, topics and replies are reviewed by a moderator before or after publication. EJA may refuse, reformat or remove content that does not comply with these terms.
- The person who posts is responsible for their content. They confirm they have the right to share it (copyright, their organisation’s consent) and that it contains no child-identifying information.
- By uploading a resource, you allow EJA to host, display and distribute it on the platform according to the access you choose (open, members only or paid). You remain its owner and can ask for its removal.
- Paid resources: the price is set by the person who uploads the resource. Payment and payout terms will be set out in separate terms of sale [to be completed once the payment method is decided].
7. Public chat
- The chat is open to everyone and moderated by EJA. Members’ messages are published under their display name.
- Replies without an account (anonymous) are always reviewed before publication and may contain neither links nor files.
- The chat is not a helpline or an emergency service: if a child is in immediate danger, contact the competent child protection services of your country.
8. Prohibited behaviour
- Insulting, discriminatory, violent, harassing or defamatory remarks.
- Advertising, commercial solicitation unrelated to the network, spam or repeated messages.
- Illegal content, content contrary to children’s rights or that invades other people’s privacy.
- Impersonating a person or an organisation.
- Attempting to bypass moderation, technical limits or the security of the platform.
9. Reporting and sanctions
Any content can be reported. A report for child-identifying information hides the content immediately until a moderator decides. Depending on the seriousness, EJA may remove the content, warn its author, or suspend or delete the account, without prejudice to a report to the competent authorities.
10. Intellectual property
The platform, its name, visual identity and editorial texts belong to EJA. Resources remain the property of their authors: download them for your professional use, citing the source, unless a broader licence is stated on the resource. Any commercial reuse requires the author’s consent.
11. Liability
Resources and discussions are provided for information and experience sharing between professionals; they do not replace the advice of a competent service. EJA is not responsible for how they are used, nor for the content of external websites some links point to.
12. Changes to these terms
EJA may change these terms. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page; members are informed of significant changes by email or at their next sign-in.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by Senegalese law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution is sought first by writing to EJA; failing that, the competent courts of Dakar have jurisdiction.
